FRASER HEALTH AUTHORITY

Fraser Health has introduced Program Management to the region. This innovative approach to medical governance brings physicians into a position where they can have greater influence on policy making. The Surgical Program is spreading the practice of surgical pause and safety checklist throughout the region. In addition we plan to introduce use of the 'neutral zone' in our operating rooms. This practice avoids direct handling of sharps between surgeon and scrub nurse reducing the risk of penetrating injuries.
